Our Mission:
The Friends Alumni Organization (FSU) is an organization composed of African American and Latino alumni who graduated or attended Syracuse University. In addition, The Friends help to bridge the gap between alumni and students with annual events that help to establish a strong rapport. We have accomplished plenty since our inception and the new millennium only promises a world of exciting events. The Friends collaborated with the then (Office of Program Development) now S.U.M.A.(Syracuse University office of Multicultural Advancement) to present the Coming Back Together reunions of African American and Latino alumni in 1983. Formerly a Chartered Alumni Club with the University, The Friends have returned to its roots and has dedicated its continued mission to network with alumni nationally and internationally. Currently, The Friends are working to establish Ambassadors across the United States (FS-USA).

These Meet-Ups are designed to bring Alumni, friends, and family together during an average "Hanging-Out" moment. National Meet-up Groups: Alumni Meet-up Groups are about connecting people with something in common. From activities you love and hobbies you want to try, to ways you identify yourself and who you want to be, a Meet-up group is a community. A community of people who come together because they care about the same thing. Comedy, first-time parents, Line Dancers, aspiring circus performers, coders… you name it, there’s a good chance there’s a Meet-up group for it (and if there isn’t, maybe you should create one). While the connections begin online, the real memories are made at these events. Meet-up events are real-life gatherings where members and organizers get together to connect, discuss, and practice activities related to their shared interests.
